Windows 10 Anniversary Update is available (1607)

The Windows 10 Anniversary Update is available (1607).
Windows 10 users will get it automatically this week; but you can force the update from the following link.

It is about 3.6GB download and an hour or so to upgrade.

Download was fast on a NBN 100mbps connection; but ADSL users may wish to let it happen automatically overnight.

I've updated 3 systems this morning, 2 notebooks and a desktop; (2 x home, 1 x pro); all straightforward and no issues.

Whoops, went to do the update and I've run out of room on my 128GB SSD.

Time for a bigger one as I've shifted all I can to other discs.
    Cheers

Just ordered a Samsung 850 Pro 256GB so I'll migrate the 128GB disk to it and use the old one for storage of photo files etc.

Also flashed my BIOS to the latest version as the original was corrupt. Fortunately my Mobo has dual BIOS so I was still ticking along but if that got corrupted too I was in strife.

    Done.... thanks for that -
If you replace the 'W' with 'T' in When, Where and What, you get the answer for each question.
CC more than welcome. Remember, I can't be offended so go for it. Feel free to post your ideas with an edit if you have time. Thanks in advance.

Just finished the disk migration and it gave Windows a fright.

When I plugged in the new disk Windows reverted back to W7, went into meltdown and did memory scans and checkdisk etc.

Anyway I reset the boot sequence and all is running fine again.

    Reminded me of this cartoon.

Not a great deal of difference with this update except that start-up and shutdown is now almost instantaneous.

I can't get mine to update to the aniversary edition...
every time I try, when it boots it boots to a trouble shooting screen. then when I get it to boot properly, it doesn't have the update

No, you just have not (yet) got the full update. That was an update to all releases.

Ta Kym. Any pros/cons about doing it via the link above? Is it OK to just wait?
Just wondering if the numbering is sequential and refers to individual updates.

I've posted this before, running 'sfc /scannow' from and admin shell makes sure you system is good before upgrading.

It takes a few minutes to run.
