Photo of the Week 525 : Invisible Entries

The photo of the week starting tonight will not have entries visible during the entry phase. So members will not be able to see the other entries at all, until voting starts. I am doing this as a trial to see if it is something we should do at times/all the time. By making all entries invisible to others, members will not have any idea what they are 'competing' against until voting starts. It would eliminate people checking the existing entries and deciding not to enter cause the already entered photos are 'better'.

Constructive Critique of my photographs is always appreciated

Or a bit more diversity. I have noticed a few times now that there are some who enter who wait till close to closing of the entries, only to enter a similar photo to another entrant. I am not sure if it is coincidence of if they purposefully enter something similar. In a couple of these cases it has been the same scene and subject, just different day, but even the processing has been done in a similar way to the entry already submitted.

I like the idea. It'll be interesting to see how it goes.

One small problem I have. With my memory I have a few times forgotten to press confirm. So when I go back to see other entries, my entry is not there. I then re-enter and confirm. In your new option I will not know if I have entered or not.
I have been taking photos for 50 years. I am now trying to get into Photography

Yes you will. Cause everyone can see their own entry.

    I've wondered about that myself.

Mmm, I know I have been put off when someone has entered something similar to what I was going to post so haven't posted.. so I put something else in that is different. I wonder if it will work the other way around so that you end up with more entries that are the same - or more cliche?
Sometimes when there's only a few entries I will post just because... doesn't matter how awesome the entries are.. but to me competitions are not about winning.. I just enjoy participating and thinking about photography.

    Interesting point.

Really, I can't think of any good reason not to hide the entries.

Yeah, I don't want to scare people off.

And I totally agree with this comment from jim,
