    Unknown Duck

An ID on this duck please.

I saw it on our dam the other day hanging about with the Pacific Blacks.

Was thinking female Mallard or cross Pacific Black/Mallard Duck, but that doesn't really work.
Got to be a feral something and 10 minutes later, playing with the search engine of my choice, I come up with a maybe Welsh Harlequin Duck.
No link, time for you to play with the search engine of your choice.

Thanks Mark, I think you hit that one on the head. It definitely looks like a Welsh Harlequin.
Exotic import running free with the natives. Interesting about your remark of a Pacific Black/ Mallard cross. I wonder if it is possible as Pacifics and Mallards are related.

--It sounds cruel, but I suppose somebody's gotta ID ducks. (Quick, duck!! - Or "quack" will do.)

Anyway, I was just wondering why you didn't post in the CC forums, as Feathers wanted you to

It's well known that it happens.
I'll post these examples from a while ago that shows I need to revisit PP.
