    flickr stuff

    So these two photos were posted here the same way. Both about the same size.
    First question, how to stop the "Click here to view the original image of 1100x735px" appearing at top of photo.
    And why does clicking on #2 take you go to my flicker page and the first doesn't? Both linked as Originals from flickr.

    And now the second here doesn't take me to my flickr page now and the same photo did for the same photo posted last here .... http://www.ausphotography.net.au/for...46#post1355446

    For those playing along at home, here is the code used to generate the above images

    and I have no idea why Mark. There is something (odd) about Flickr.

    One thing I have noticed is there is a BBcode error on both with an extra url that is superfluous

    [img]https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1538/26673807812_6b022ce234_o.jpg[/img][/url]
    [url=https://flic.kr/p/GD5eL9]Superb Fairy-Wren[/url]

    That url close out is not needed cause in the code up to that point there is on url starting code. Your code starts with the IMG start code, has the link to the image and has the image close code, then it has that extra close out code for url, for some reason. Then it has your wording and the linking code built in together, which has the url start and finish codes wrapped around it, and is fine. That extra url code might be causing it to do silly things?

    oh and something for you on BBCode. There is a code called noparse, which tells our software to ignore the code and treat it like text

    so you can do things like [ no parse ] all my great code here [/ no parse] and anything between the noparse brackets will just display as text rather than action the code in the middle. Just remember to remove all the spaces, I just added those to stop this from thinking it was code.

    Using noparse is a good way to show others the code you have used, especially if trying to sort out an issue. I used the noparse code around your code in post #2 above to force the actual code to display, rather than your photos.

    Worse news: I clicked on each one, and got to the original both times.

    How are you pasting your flickr generated BBcode link in your post? are you pasting it directly in the edit box like this:

    [url=https://flic.kr/p/Gix7yh][img]https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1627/26452721680_8c1302e680_b.jpg[/img][/url][url=https://flic.kr/p/Gix7yh]Seedpod[/url] by [url=https://www.flickr.com/photos/99216317@N08/]John Blackburn[/url], on Flickr

    which gives this:

    Seedpod by John Blackburn, on Flickr

    or are you using one of the Link/insert image buttons and pasting the flickr generated bbcode in the pop-up box?

    Make sure when you click the "share" button on flickr, you select the "BBcode" option, and then copy all the supplied text and paste directly into the edit box without modification, and without using any of the buttons above the edit box.

    - - - Updated - - -

    I always add an extra linefeed between the [/url][url= so that the text in the edit box looks like this

    [url=https://flic.kr/p/Gix7yh][img]https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1627/26452721680_8c1302e680_b.jpg[/img][/url]
    [url=https://flic.kr/p/Gix7yh]Seedpod[/url] by [url=https://www.flickr.com/photos/99216317@N08/]John Blackburn[/url], on Flickr

    that way the text with the link appears under the image rather than to the right.

    John, I do as you say. It's how the name of the bird appears under the photo. Note that to find your Exif data I have to visit you flickr place. I'd rather people could see it here without having to head of to flickr.
    Now I'll post one without the extra [/url] Rick mentioned. (suspect it won't make a difference)

    I've found (posting from 'Smugmug'), if I choose the old 1024px for the longest side I don't get that 'Click here' thing, even though we allowed to post at 1200px these days....maybe something you could try for flickr?
    If you replace the 'W' with 'T' in When, Where and What, you get the answer for each question.
    CC more than welcome. Remember, I can't be offended so go for it. Feel free to post your ideas with an edit if you have time. Thanks in advance.
