    1. We're too silly.

As Carl Sagan so eloquently put it. There are more stars in the universe than grains of sand on every beach and every desert in the world!! Now, every star could have a solar system and a planet just like earth. The mind boggles.

If every one of those stars had at least one planet similar to Earth(and it's less likely to be so, than not!) .. then that makes for a lot of beaches at the least .. which boggles the mind as to how much sand the universe contains!

Seeing as I hate sand .. I'm totally trapped!

Also, AK. There could be a solution contained in popular verse. They could send exploratory spacecraft to suitable
but sandy planets crewed by specialised sand clearers. Look at stanza 5 in this link.

So why do I feel so alone? Might have to put a bit more work into my personality I 'spose.
Why it's interesting I tend to also find it a bit mind numbing.
And if any of the potential life out there finds us I hope they don't come seeking asylum. That might challenge us.

And you can multiply Carl's theory by infinity and it really gets mind boggling.
