    Some one on one

I decided to get some one on one tutoring as I think I take more in being shown than reading. I ended up getting a brain surgeon doubling as a photographer (from the fee I assumed this). Now I'm thinking should I have enquired here first? I hope it's rewarding......

It is no good getting cold feet after you spent the money. I'm sure you did your "due diligence" prior to your booking. Enjoy the experience first then if it doesn't meet your expectations you can take appropriate steps to get a refund/discount. Make the most of it and be happy you have the money to afford this. JMHO cheers Brian

On a more serious note, if the person is a good tutor they should let you 'drive' the session. To maximise the benefits have a clear idea of what you want to gain from the experience, what questions you want answered etc, before hand. If you haven't already, it might pay to drop them a quick email outlining what you want/expect from the session so that everyone is 'on the same page'. Also if doing something new, being fully up-to-speed with your equipment before the session may avoid 'wasting' time during the session. (Maybe stick a pdf of your manual on your phone just in case.)

I think it's a great idea and sounds like fun...

    Cheers.

The worth of something is in the value you get from it. So enjoy your workshop and then we will discuss upgrading you straight to advanced

Not as many as I would have liked. However the multi exposure has had a few more uses, still not sure what that little glitch that happens is though.

I think I'm actually starting to resemble my camera's personalities.

.. a momentary spot of brain fade .. then keep on as usual, as if nothing happened.

well, it works for both me and my cameras and who am I to stuff around with a working ecosystem

Well my two one on one sessions have come & gone & because you always learn something new I won't say it was a waste. For the first two hour session I didn't want to interrupt all the time saying "yer I know that" I should have. The second session was a bit of hands on but again getting not much more than "Google". Being one on one I felt we were able to digress and move off the topics easy. We spent a lot of time floundering around in Lightroom 5, I can see this being an asset in the future, I might get it. At the end of it all the general advice get out there and experiment. The up side is I now have a contact who is willing to assist with any issues I may have....much like the good ppl on this site...lol

It goes to show, photography isn't brain surgery!
All my photos are taken with recycled pixels.
