Am, I'm expecting a line speed of around 96Mbps which will give me 12Mbps at my desktop.
I'll be pretty damn chuffed with that.
I may even investigate just what the hell this Wi Fi stuff is all about and just how smart my Smart TV really is.

Agb. Long live yourself! (Cripes! You must live in Orstrailyer)
Kev. Tell me the brand of your smartypants TV. Sony and Samsung aren't too bad.
DON'T EVEN THINK about connecting it via Wi-Fi. From my research and replies posted here
you'd be up for a ~300 buck AC band router and LOTSOLUCK. Instead, run a 10/100Mbit (Cat5) cable
to the back of it. Guaranteed flicker-free viewing.
Am.
CC, Image editing OK.
Graham, in the last 6 years I've gone from 1Mb per minute download speed (yes, you read it right) to potentially 12Mbps. I feel like I've finally entered the 21st Century.
Hang in there Mate.

Am, I know jack about TV's but mine seemed to rate well. Panasonic VIErA TH-P50ST60A 50 Inch 127cm Smart 3D Full HD Plasma TV
Please don't tell me it's AKA Lassie.
I wonder with Netflix starting in Australia now if we will end up like the USA with up to a third of bandwidth at times used by Netflix users.
I was given 6 mths free trial... Dunno how much I've got left. I quickly found you have to be a dunderhead to
watch too much - or you'd soon become one. After a while you realise most of it's ho-hum.

Brian: you just gotta know where to spend your money in Sg. Whilst a place to live is a must, the rest you can more or less pick your price point.
Also considering the size of Singapore and the wealth of the government, I expect some pretty robust infrastructure.

Now maybe I'm being overly cynical but....
We've been on the road (Greynomad style) for 3 months and have followed the thread from the road.
Now that we're home and I've caught up with some things I thought I'd check where we stand in the waiting list.
Now, we live in one of the most marginal federal electorates in the Country, so one could think that we'd be up there but no sign. So a little investigation shows that the Towns to the north, south & east of us are all about to get wireless NBN. We're not even on the horizon.
Hmm, now why.... oh, perhaps its got something to do with the fact that our town (pop 6000) has an extremely low socio-economic demographic, and presumably our polling places are about as red as they come, with the smaller wealthier towns far bluer.
A few minutes ago when the neighbouring kidlets are heading for bed - normal afternoon speeds half that and mid evening half again

Just did a speed check and it's close to what was promised. I checked it about 10pm and the download was peaking at around 60Mbps, I suppose the difference being more people were using it.

Just a tad quicker than the 1MB per minute I was getting about 5 years ago.

Don't think I will ever see the NBN
