There MUST be an app . . .

OK, everyone. There MUST be an app . . . where you can annotate locations?

I often drive past a scene in the middle of the day and think it would be perfect in dawn or dusk light, but of course, I forget it within a few days. If I had something easy to use that I could make a quick note, it would be very useful.

I have an iPad and IPhone, plus an Andriod phone, so either platform is OK.

    Pen and paper?

    Misspelt, it's almost an er-app.

However, I'd like to hear of a non-distractive somesuch as well.

Just a quick thought, (not an expert and dont have an iphone.)
If you took a photo of the location with the gps on to allow the photo to be geotagged that would give you the location and a visual prompt of where it is.
A quick search showed plenty of apps that let you annotate photos.

Another option is to use the voice recorder to record memos to yourself.

ps am does pen and paper come with instructions yet?

google maps lets you do that (well it does on android), you just tap and hold on the location (and it should be your current location by default if you have GPS turned on) and it puts a flag at that location, then you can go back to it at anytime.

I'd second Evernote, or Microsoft Onenote.

Both are available on iOS, MacOS, Windows, Windows Phone, Android and Linux.

as a long time user of Evernote, I found that I adopted Onenote very quickly. I just found it more to my liking.

Both also synchronise across all platforms.

How about a simple reminder in ios (if you have an iphone). While you are driving you could say "hi siri, please remind me when I get home to write down XYZ location". It will create the reminder for you and tell you about it when you get home.

Just take a quick photo with your phone or iPad it will geolocate it and give you a visual reminder of what you saw/ why you liked it

Only if you have location services turned on on your phone. It is usually turned off on my phone to save battery.

Yeah. We do the same. The share location functionality is great for families. We normally use it so we can see when our spouse have left work from a dinner timing perspective depending on who is cooking.

In the past you had to use the findmyiphone functionality
