Did your internet go slow on 22/6/15

I was viewing the entries in the photo comps and it was very slow loading the photo's. So much so as I flicked down the page I had to wait for the next photo to load with only the "image/entry number etc" showing before the photo loaded.
I am trying to ascertain whether my internet connection is causing problems or sites I go to. Mainly this site is where it slows loading photo's.
I have cable and wifi from optus.
I hope that all makes sense. cheers brian

Mine went slow for all sites for about 1/2 an hour on/off yesterday afternoon. Pages from anywhere wouldn't load.

    I'm with Optus.

Mine plays up at times too, I reckon some of it is the 'netflix effect'. So many people have signed up and are streaming movies etc that it is bottlenecking at times.

Sorry Kym cannot help with time of day. However I tried again after this post and it was a lot faster but still a little slow. Thanks Am I suspect optus maybe the culprit here. I pay for top cover and it seems to be lacking a bit of late. I will google a program to check my internet speed. Cheers brian

Checked speed via optus 56.77 Mbps download Not sure if that is good or bad. They recently upgraded the wifi and I think that is when things started slowing down. Any which way you have checked your side and I thank you for that. cheers Brian

PS: Just ran the test. Here are my results for a 30MBit/sec cable service.

Even with these, errr, shabby figures AP has been reasonable and for us not slower than normal.

Mine has been doing that for 3 weeks. I thought it was my poor old desktop.

46 mbps via ookla but did not do upload speed. I think I will go back in my box after seeing what speed Andrew (I@M) gets. Whew! It has been many years since I had that type of speed. Perhaps that is the wrong word as well. Then I see what Kym has and I wonder why it has taken so long to achieve that for the rest of good old Aussie. cheers Brian
