    Wide angle for Canon 5dMKiii?

With my 24-105 needing repair, I need a replacement lens before going overseas in two weeks.
I am looking at either the Sigma 24-70, Tamron 24-70 or a second hand Canon 24-70.

    The reason I want the 24-70 is so I get a f2.8.
The Tamron is an IS lens, but is it of the same quality as the other two?

The repair for the 24-105 has been quoted at $330. So, for now, I think a new lens is the best option.

Where are you going? Might be cheaper to buy it when you get there than before you leave. And if you're already getting your 24-105 fixed, then why not go wider again or you'll have two with the same zoom range when you get back. Try this one:

    P. Does this mean that you'll be the only photographer? Will there be plenty of light?
As it stands, you might be hindering your efforts.
