    Works for me using FF.
You can also use Live View in AP Extras (left of New Posts), it kinda does the same thing.

    Nope! Worked for me.
Try a Ctrl-F5 while in your browser and then try that page again.
(That should be a browser cache clear.)
    CC, Image editing OK.

CTRL+F5 is a hard reset, in that it reloads an entire webpage from the server, rather than using cache history. It can work on any website page

There is something weird with the new posts function. Any time the site goes into maintenance and displays the "come back later" sign, that sign is all you get on clicking "new posts" forevermore. (Rebooting the computer fixes it, as does Ctrl-f5 - but few people have heard of or remember that keystroke combination.) Note that accessing new posts some other way (such as via the "new posts" on your user panel on the home page) works fine. (That one is http://www.ausphotography.net.au/for....php?do=getnew where the "new posts" on each forum page is http://www.ausphotography.net.au/for...e=vBForum_Post ).

Obviously, caching is the problem. It is almost certainly browser-specific: aggressive caching browsers (Opera, Vivaldi, probably Chrome) are hit by it, conservative ones (probably Firefox, Seamonkey, PaleMoon, Safari) are probably not. (Or maybe they all are - I haven't checked.)

Should search.php not always direct the browser not to cache the page? (Possibly it does. There are about six different ways to specify browser caching, spread between the HTTP header and the HTML head. Browsers often do not honour them as the developers try every little tweak to get faster benchmark scores and bend the rules a bit, so it gets a bit tricky. This is why I have made a point of forgetting pretty much all I ever knew about cache control.)

(I'm good at forgetting. You want something forgot, just tell me. I'm a champion.)

Anyway, anytime you feel bored and have nothing better to do, you could tweak the search.php HTTP header and/or HTML head.

Or, if that's too much like hard work for marginal benefit, simply add a little fine-print hint to the "doing stuff, come back later" text suggesting that if the expected return time has passed, users could try Ctrl-f5.

And if that's too hard and you'd rather the issue went away all by itself, just tell me. I'll have forgotten all about it by Tuesday.

    Sorry. What was the question?
