    Mention tags

Sorry for the simple question but I can't spot how to mention a user so that they get a notification about their name being used in a post. Some forums it's done by preceding the name with "@", on others there's an speaker icon in the editor, but I can't spot one.

What's the trick on this forum please?

ah, that explains it. It's a handy little feature to alert someone about a relevant conversation. I'll see if I can get it working on tapatalk. Cheers

hmm. The forum isn't responding to Tapatalk at the moment. Earlier Tapatalk was working but the site was incredibly slow via the internet.

    Test @Kym and @Hamster
I'll try on a computer as I don't think it's working in tapatalk.

No. You're supposed to reply with "don't mention it"

Edit - I see the little speaker icon is available in the editor now too. Nice.

Some times more is to much!
Of cause I know nothing about this and wonder what the benefit of mention/tags is?
I can already easily access who and where I've been thanked for a useful post or CC and subscribe to threads if I so please.

Yes, but if, for example, you have a particular area of expertise then it's now possible for someone to post something in a thread like. "Mark L might have an opinion on this as he photographs X". By using the mention tag you will get a notification about the post and can have a look to see why you were mentioned and potentially contribute to the post.
So yes, you can already see where you've been, but these allow you to be drawn towards things you might not have seen but would be interested in.
Often they are useful for attracting mods or advanced users who have valued opinions. You may not fall into this category, I don't know.
Sometimes more is not something to be worried about.

It's in trial mode, we can turn it off if most don't like it
