Advice sought

OK here goes! I have a version of lightroom 3 (I think) installed on my laptop but on my now dead desktop I have a legit version of NX2. Can't find the disk hence my inquiry here. A feature I liked and used a lot was to convert a colour image to monochrome then using colour control points bring back the colour to selected areas. Can I do this using the version of lightroom I have and as simply as possible how to if so. Please excuse my lack of comp. skills! Many thanks in advance for any advice.
