December 2014 : Critique Competition: Winners

As announced at the end of November, we were holding a critique competition for 1st December - 19th December.
Members were invited to think more about the constructive critique given.
The Ausphotography moderator team were then on the lookout for good CC and we spent time choosing the best critique over the competition period.

    The winner is
    bcys1961
    (Brad)

Not once, but twice, Brad came to our attention with two extremely good critiques. The first was here and the second here.
For his superb efforts Brad has won a Toshiba 1tb Canvio Connect USB3 portable hard-drive.

    CONGRATULATIONS BRAD

But that is not all. We also hinted at the start of the competition that other prizes might be on offer as well.
And it is my pleasure to announce that MattNQ and mongo have both won a 16gb usb drive for their constructive critique efforts.
MattNQ's critique is here and mongo's critique is here

    CONGRATULATIONS MATTNQ AND MONGO

Now being a bit sneaky, I also had something else going on, that I did not even mention to the moderators.
I decided that I would give a couple of prizes away to Ausphotography moderators.
The thread on 'Is Photography Art' was what I was looking at in regard to the site moderators.
I wanted to see which of the moderators would contribute interesting discussion to that thread.
So today I have gone through all the contributions by Ausphotography moderators in that thread and have chosen this POST by Arthurking83 and this POST by WhoDo.
As such Arthurking83 and WhoDo both win a 16gb USB drive as well.

    CONGRATULATIONS ARTHURKING83 AND WHODO

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL THE WINNERS FROM AUSPHOTOGRAPHY.

Thanks to all those that joined in with the Critique Competition and helped see the level of critique on the site jump up a notch.
It all goes to helping one another be the best photographers we can be. Thank you!

Constructive Critique of my photographs is always appreciated

    Thanks AM, Maryanne , Mark
I'm thrilled to win. When Rick threw down the challenge I decided to take it on , not so much to win a hard drive , but because I would also like to see the depth and quality of critique improve on the site . I'm going to try and keep doing one in depth critique a week when I see a photo where think I have something useful to say. I actually found that by doing a comprehensive critique my photography improves as I note various things that I also should be doing more off.

So lovely to see those that give feedback being rewarded.
Well done to the winners; especially Brad.
It's great to see what an excellent critique looks like too, so thank you Rick for the links.
