    Exclamation So slow?

Is anyone else having a problem tonight? Have you got time to answer this?
Everything takes ages with FF and Chrome.
Wanted to "reply with quote" and 20 minutes later it still doesn't let me.

It was slow during the day yesterday too, but the server was running fine. I rebooted the server around 4.00pm yesterday afternoon just to be sure it was not the server, even though everything appeared fine. At about 7.00pm we saw network congestion causing issues, so the slowness is in the network somewhere between us and California (where the server is located).

No slowness from the Northern hemisphere. However, initial connection takes a tad longer than normal. I guess the NSA has to initialize its eavesdrop-systems before allowing access to the server .

    All feedback is highly appreciated!

We found an issue in recent days. A bit of troubleshooting and work and we isolated the cause...ME... Don't ask, but basically my connection the site was causing Apache to hang. So everytime I tried to post, it would slow the site down.

But the good news is.. it is fixed.

Be interesting if you couldn't fix it.

    can't play on their site,
    because playing on their site,
    stuffs up their site.
    What a delight.

Rick's issue was a faulty network connection that cause partial packets to be sent.
As a result the web server was left in Read state waiting for a packed.
The timeouts were too high and that caused the hangup. The result was similar to a DDoS attack.

Very weird, but we made some changes to the TCP configuration and the problem has be mitigated.

Also: I just threw a 300 concurrent hit (mixed heavy pages like the main forum) at the server which cleared in about 11 seconds.

    This a a US based test... http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/#!/egrI...orum/forum.php
