WIN : 10x Double Passes to NIGHTCRAWLER

For your chance to WIN one of 10 double passes to NIGHTCRAWLER,
you have to critique the movie's trailer.

    NIGHTCRAWLER in cinemas November 27!

    Director: Dan Gilroy
Cast: Jake Gyllenhaal, Rene Russo and Bill Paxton
    Trailer: YouTube link: http://youtu.be/9Lb81geP9C0
    Rating: MA15+
    Run time: 117 mins

NIGHTCRAWLER is a pulse-pounding thriller set in the nocturnal underbelly of contemporary Los Angeles. Jake Gyllenhaal stars as Lou Bloom, a driven young man desperate for work who discovers the high-speed world of L.A. crime journalism. Finding a group of freelance camera crews who film crashes, fires, murder and other mayhem, Lou muscles into the cut-throat, dangerous realm of nightcrawling -- where each police siren wail equals a possible windfall and victims are converted into dollars and cents. Aided by Rene Russo as Nina, a veteran of the blood-sport that is local TV news, Lou blurs the line between observer and participant to become the star of his own story.

A double pass to NIGHTCRAWLER will be sent to the 10 best critiques of the movie trailer
(as judged by the Ausphotography moderator team)

and if you do not win, perhaps go and see the movie anyway

^ CC away, so you can give the tickets you win to me. Then I can give the tickets to someone else 'cause the cinema isn't much closer for me.

"You have to CC to get a ticket."
"You have to CC to get a ticket."

I think the trailer looks good but doesn't tell a story.
What is the movie about? There may be hype around that gives added information for those exposed to any hype, but the trailer only leaves questions about what this movie is about.
That may be a good thing to arouse curiosity, but I don't get what the movie is about from the trailer, so am I left curious?
Seems to be trying to cover to many bases while showing none!

Well, I'll give it a go, but if I win a ticket, you'll have to give it to MarkL to give to someone else I can't leave him to be the only one to critique the trailer.

As a trailer, it gave me very little idea of what the movie was about. I had to google to find the storyline, then the trailer made more sense. From a photographic point of view, I did enjoy many of the scenes in the trailer. They gave me some suggestions on how I could frame some photos in the future. The movie looks as if it could be a good mixture of action scenes and human interaction scenes, which would appeal to people like me whom don't mind a bit of action, but get bored and confused when it is one action scene after another. Between Google and the trailer, I am intrigued, and if I had the chance to watch the movie, I would.

I would love to say this is reality taken to the next level, but this movie trailer seems to portray the way the tech world/ social media is going. This is what will become of the 24 news wanted more stories to fill time slots and the people that doesnt put down that camera to help a fellow human.
Sadly life never will be as action packed as this appears. So just sit back and enjoy the lastest movie by Dan Gilroy, featuring Jack Gyllenhaual

A short glimpse into the world Nightcrawler shows us that the moviegoer will be in for some night time driving stunts with the obligatory T-Bone crash at an intersection. Nothing new there. Jake Gyllenhaal's appearance is somewhat scarey and could shock a few of his devoted fans. What is the story about? A man in need a career finds his way into television news. As to what happens after that Well, to find out you will have to make the money to go buy a ticket to see for yourself. Also stars Rene Russo and I spotted one of my favourites, Bill Paxton.

So David. Does Bathurst have a cinema that might show this movie?
If it does I may PM farmmax and offer transport over there to see it with you.
Just a thought. Though I'm pretty sure what the reclusive farmmax will tell me.

    Leanneqld gets a double pass.

We have also given away 3 more passes behind the scenes, (we told you we had some surprises in store for December) so that leaves 3 left to give away.

Bit of a mixed bag this trailer.
I find the first few video snips are not eye catching and a bit pointless. Presents a bit of a cityscape I guess but does nothing for me.
Intro builds a bit of a picture and the car scenes are good - builds the action.
I like the dark lighting for most scenes - suits the storyline I think

The "you have to make the money to buy a ticket" gets annoying after the third time - a bit overdone I thought. but the crescendo it builds to is effective

The final scene of him sitting in the news anchor's chair is the "aha" moment. But I'd like to get a little more idea of why he is driven towards this goal.

I'm suspecting it is quite a good movie, given the cast and potential in the story, but the trailer leaves me with the feeling that it's a "wouldn't mind seeing that" movie but not a "geez I'd miss my mum's birthday to see that movie" movie

Fast action, dark scenes. This trailer shows the potential of what should be a tense and gripping movie. Sure, after watching it you haven't got the slightest idea what the movies about but you do know it's suspenseful, action packed and a little mysterious. That's what I like in a movie so the trailer works for me. Now I have to hope that despite not earning the money I'm still going to get a ticket.
