Travelling to New Zealand in December - location ideas please

This question hasn't been asked for a few years - so....

We are travelling around NZ this year from December 7th for approx. 10 days in a camper van. Starting in Auckland, I am after any ideas for locations to shoot please! I have never been to NZ before so am completely green. I will have two teens with me too, so any non-photography ideas for them are also welcome.

    Thanks Ann

My partner & I are in the middle of a 3 week holiday touring the south island. We loved Lake Tepako and Stewart Island which included Ulva Island (see this post) http://www.ausphotography.net.au/for...07#post1260207

We are now in Queenstown. This place would really suit you teenagers, what with jet boats & bungy jumping etc. Just make sure your wallet is well stuffed with money before you get here though. Weather permitting we're doing a fly/cruise to Milford sound tomorrow so I'll keep you updated on highlights.

Cape Reinga ( the northern tip of the North Island ), was an interesting area to visit. A lot of mosquitoes at night - I stayed in a camper there, and learnt not to open the windows at night.

The Coromandel Peninsula seemed an area worth visiting, but unfortunately did not have enough time to include this area also.

Constructive critique of my photos is welcome and appreciated.
