Tamron 70-200 Di VC USM on Nikon D610

Hi all, picked up my 70-200mm Tamron the other day, so took it out for a bit of spin. First impression is that it feels solid and heavy but not to heavy to walk around with for a few hours with a sling strap. did find myself just holding with my right hand (at waist height on sling) sometime just to ease that weight from the neck. focus is fast and seems accurate. Also has a strong Lens hood which I found out the hardway The sling came away from the camera Base it some how unlatched itself and had small trip from the height of the waist to that beautiful green grass thankfully. So all good
Here are some images with 100% crop, Images have basic adjustments in lightroom lightly pushed, a small amount clarity and contrast but no sharpening or noise reduction.

Thanks Travis, great to see another local on here.
I will try and get some studio shots with it on the weekend, it will be of my goldy (not the above) but will be interesting how it goes with controlled lighting.
    cheers

    Couple more

I think I have actually met you a couple of times. I work at Ford and know Shane and Lani, also living with Mel Tournier at the moment????

Probably have crossed paths but sorry I don't think I know anyone who works at ford or any of those names you mentioned. But you might of fixed my ford when I had my AU, it was in there a few times.
    edit
not saying you didn't fix it the first time but that you might of come across it.

I've had mine for a little while now and also mount in on a D610 after recently upgrading from a D7000 and I love it. I found that since I moved to FF it became so much more useful. I did have a little problem however, there was a bit too much 'play' when I mounted it onto the body. so much so that it wasn't focussing properly or communicating with the body. The camera shop that I bought it from took it back and sent it off to Tamron. It was returned working beautifully (in about a week, I might add). Recently, I got the new Tamron 24-70, and not that I have had it for long but I think that it may even be better than the already wonderful 70-200. All in all with the two lens combo with the D610 I am certainly VERY, VERY happy.
    Cheers

Your thoughts pretty much mirror mine after my first outing with the lens, also on my (now departed) D600.

I went to a car show and took lots of shots of classic cars, and when I uploaded them to my computer there wasn't any sharpening necessary, only lots of cloning out of every tiny blemish that this lens picks up. It's a ripper!

I also did a wedding with it and formed the opinion that it was possibly too sharp for most portrait work, with every zit shown is fine detail.

My only negative with the lens is that it is not happy with the Tamron 1.4 T/C, with AF being very hit and miss. Other than that it's a great bit of kit. I'm delighted with mine, as I am with the 24-70 as well.
