    A shopping day to remember.

About 80km south of ck/twn we have some banana plantations, which have Tongans and others, to make up the numbers needed to work the farms. Think they stay for so many months before returning home. They do their fortnightly shopping at our local supermarket. Well, a few weeks back, both the customers and staff were given a real treat, when on finishing their shopping, they entertained us with some of their traditional songs. The harmonies between the girls and baritone voices of the men was
spine tingling'ly beautiful to say the least, with much applause. Then the men did a Tongan haka that brought the house down.
They were happy to oblige me with a group photo, and as you can see in this pic, they are a lovely friendly bunch of people
A great day to remember indeed

I should mention that they were in front of 5 checkout bays loaded with customers and staff. Cheers.

Wonderful moments and photos and thank you for sharing.

I remember going to a Maori funeral and they did the Maori Haka and that was amazing to see, as you say, spine tingling a real treat that I will never forget.

    Thanks for the comments guys
Lance, that's the first time for me too, and in a confined area, it was fantastically loud.
Cargo. Apparently every day when the work is done, they sing a couple of songs together, before departing to their various places of stay.
