    The D750 has arrived.

Just received an email telling me all about the D750.

Is it the replacement for the D300 or the D610...

Or will it sit at a level between the D610 and the D810

Apparently somewhere between the 610 & 810. I had been thinking about the 610.

This is a let down...thinking that this could be a successor to the D700 but looking at it well.
To me its missing a few things that i like about the D700,
One is the curtain to close at view finder the AF-ON is gone ( I know that this is reconfigurable) to me its the D7200 in FX terms
Price wise in Aus its very good close to our colonial cousins. 24mp is a sweet spot who know it might grow on me WiFi built in good.......

    Any one with thoughts

Nikon can't please everyone, but this should hopefully go to partly satisfy those who want a lower MP FX camera..

Looks like an awesome camera to me, it will fill the gaps where the D800e falls down, such as sport shooting and better noise for long exposure. I can't wait to get mine.

For sports shooting, this camera is a bit of a fail(from Nikon .. not the actual camera).

Of course only detailed examination of it's ability in the field will reveal how good it really is, but to not allocate a dedicated AF-On button for a camera that supposes to be as much is a fail.

Like SarNop said, it's more of a D620, than a true D7xxx camera. As a successor to the D7xxx model range, it's fastest frame rate ability should have started at 7fps, 8fps would have been better.

6.5 fps is not a sufficient step up to 5fps(of the D810) to make it stand out as much as it could have. D610 does 6fps!!
I reckon that Nikon have cheaped out on the buffer capability on this camera!
Expeed 4 appears to have the bandwidth to process more than 6.5 24Mp frames per second, but if Nikon had increased this speed, the buffer would have filled 'too quickly'.

Also .. 1/4000s shutter speed limit is not the type of limitation you expect in a serious sports/action type camera!
Even the poor little D70's had 1/8000s shutter capability ... admittedly only a pseudo 1/8000s shutter speed ... but 1/8000s all the same.

The new 20mm f/1.8 lens is a better idea me thinks!
And considering Nikon's recent realisation that more modern lenses are what a lot of consumers are looking for, I'd have thought that instead of a D750 priced out of the range of most consumers .. a D500 type camera, with Fx sensor, and slightly lower specs than the D610, but priced between $1K and $1.5K would have increased their overall sales(both cameras and Fx lenses!!)

While it's always nice to see new stuff being made .. I think this one looks to be more of a disappointment as it stands.

What's the price going to be though, that's what might stop me and is it going to be worth the extra compared to the D610 or will that now drop in price.

    Yea, I'm confused.
Great camera I'm sure but not what I expected with the naming.

So where's the D750 made? If Thailand, I'm still sticking with my theory that a secretive project is brewing in Sendai.

Yeah! .. most likely a couple more. This may be more of a decoy to distract unwanted rumour mongering types away from the next couple of high end cameras soon to be released.

I fall into the disappointed category. Was hoping for a D700 replacement but it looks like the D810 it is.

I usually get a bit excited about new releases from my current brand manufacturer but I must admit to being a bit "ho hum' about this one.

The 20mm f1.8 looks like much more exciting news.

I will check it out at the Photokina in Cologne , this week,
Personally, I think it is not a follow up of the D700, with that funny flip up display.

I am disappointed that the D700 owners are disappointed - I was hoping to see a pile of low shutter count D700's flood ebay at bargain prices

You can already pick them up at under $1000. Not sure how much lower they would go.
