Lani, congrats on the D300(I keep telling folks that screen is a fantastic feature.. but I'm starting to sound like our great 'ol mate Ken Rockwell!! .. so, I got to tone that aspect down a little bit)

My Nikon 17-35 F2.8 just arrived. Yay for true wide angle on the D3. Can't wait till the weekend to give it a workout.

That must be an exciting prospect Rick. Does this equal true photographic freedom for capturing landscapes?

    Thanks Arthur,
I've got a feeling I might have few questions re the D300 coming up.
You can just tell me to go away if they become annoying.
    Cheers, Lani.

Yep, it certainly does. Almost gives me back a comparable wide angle to meet the Siggy 10-20 on a cropped sensor.

Spoilt !!!!.....nah.....just keeping me in the lifestyle I deserve, it's a tough act to follow, but someones gotta do it. I can wait to see what I can do with it too, apart from stare at it and scatch my head in bewilderment ....certainy no similarities between it and the D50....I feel sad for my D50 now it's been a fun toy.

Nice cam col! what a present..

AK: I fought temptation for a D700 and grabbed glass instead, looking forward to when the D700 price is drastically reduced.

My turn to add to this thread.

Just arrived today is my Raynox 150 close up lens.

Thanks to colinz and his winter flies photo got me thinking. I have a FZ30 Lumix. Love it and use to use it for macros but still wasn't close enough. Now I have the 150, I will see what I can do now. I will have a play over the weekend and show you all. What I have seen is good so trying it out on something real will be interesting.

Oh yeah....I ordered it from B&H from AP banner and it arrived in 3 days.....from the USA. Now that's great service. Cheaper too.
    Thanks for looking....Cheers,

Contrary to popular belief, I've never been jealous of anyone's equipment... that is until now.
Congrats Christian, can hardly wait to see some images from this puppy.
