Just received my new Dell UltraSharp U2711 27” Monitor. So many pixels!!! wow!
on sale for just under $700
30inch is on sale too for only $1000, which is an amazing price i just don't have the graphics card to cope with the pixels of the 30" (also 30 is a little big for my needs)
In was hoping to share the news of my new canon 24-70 f4 but it still is not in the shops. Maybe next week.
Very nice Jcas. There's something great about using a Leica isn't there?
Went and picked myself up an early Christmas pressie today, Sigma 35mm 1.4. Perfect to capture tomorrows festivities.
I have had my Olympus OM-D E-M5 and the 12-50mm kit lens for about 3 weeks now and I am constantly amazed by this piece of kit. It seemed expensive at the time but the image quality is excellent, heaps better than the Olympus Pen E-P5, and the 12-50mm kit lens is very useful being weather proof, macro (approximately half life-size) and going to a respectable 24mm full-frame equivalent.
Here is a photo from the kit lens in macro mode, hand-held and at a distance of approximately 0.3m

Substantially larger than real life even at this modest image size.

Olympus Pen F with Metabones Speed Booster and Laowa 12mm f/2.8 or Voigtlander 10.5mm f/0.95 or Nikon D800 with the Laowa 12mm f/2.8. The need to keep in touch with the past is a Nikon Photomic FTn or Nikon F2A and a Nikkor 25-50mm f/4 AI

I scored a pair of New balance runners My last pair have done 5 years and still have a heartbeat They have had a hard life getting soaked in mud and the usual ware and tare, they have never been washed or looked after and I recon that I will get another year out of them if I don't walk backwards. The tread is starting to come lose at the heel lol
Although not really related to photography It is my new Gear from Santa They are a great all-rounder at $119.00
Nice set of retreads would have done, Dave! Never knew a photographer yet that didn't need a good pair of shoes to get where the shots are!
