Yayayayaaa. Sigma 10-20, f4-5.6....so excited. Works beautifully on the K-5...smooooooth....now I just have to learn how to take good pics.

I ordered it late Tues and it arrived today...gotta be pleased with that (and the great price). Thanks to site sponsor eGlobal.

Heading up to Jindabyne on Sun for a couple of days so I hope there are some nice skies to practice on.

Now I must go and upload the test pics I took this evening.

Hehe... Nikon SB-700 speedlight dropped in my lap this arvo. That supplements my portraiture kit nicely, thank you.

Just looked more closely at my lens and the wrong one has been sent...smooth, but not the HSM I ordered and paid for, so it has been put back in the box and I will send it back....

If you have the 10-20 then you have HSM.
There are 2 versions 10-20 f4 -5.6 and the 10-20 constant f3.5 but both are HSM motors

Yep....realised my mistake just now and came back to the site to correct it.

Thanks for doing it first, MarkChap. The lens works perfectly and eGlobal certainly gave excellent customer service in getting here so quickly. And it was an excellent price.

Happy customer and I will shop there again....soon.

All of this is going to take many months savings!
Looking forward to seeing your list come to fruition. Since getting my 5D3 I've pretty much had the 24-105L glued to it.

Congrats on the new software. I have just installed CS6 and LR3. The info I received suggested my 'old' OS (WinXP+SP3) would not support LR4 Guess what's on my wishlist?

I didn't know people still used XP

I must say though, both new programs are more aesthetically pleasing - hope they pack a punch too!

I use XP... I would never have changed for vista (since vista is crap, it's not an upgrade, it's a downgrade!!!), and when windows 7 came out I was like .... Meeeh what do I care, XP works fine!
I'm kind of interested in Lightroom 4 though, so I think I'm going to have to go buy seven. It's about $100 in OEM version... Maybe I'll also push RAM from 4G to 8G...
I still use the classic Windows 2000 skin / visual aspect, don't like the shiny stuff, it takes space, resources, and is distracting! At work and on my laptop I have windows 7, it's not too bad.

Anyway, gear is on its way... I now have the Elinchrom BXRI 500/500 kit, it's awesome and I managed to negotiate the price under $1400 which is nice too. I ordered some large Elinchrom mount 120cm x 80cm soft boxes, can't wait to receive them!!
Next step is the 5D3, hopefully in September...

WoooHooo!!!!!!!!! Well here it is! My brand spanking new 60D

Ordered from eGlobal (Ausphoto sponsor) on Monday afternoon and received delivery on Friday morning. Brilliant!
I ordered the wrong spare battery but I doubt if I will have any problem with an exchange.
Been playing all morning and what a beautiful camera it is. A lot to learn. Very excited.

I had a birthday earlier this week and had put my wish list in to my lovely wife some months ago. There was only one item, on my list and I am now the owner of a Canon 7D which replaces my 500D !! I am still working it all out, but getting there. I haven't had a chance yet to take it on a serious outing as work often seems to get in the way and being such a nice day today I just had to (I was forced ..... honestly !) get the bike out and have a putt around the countryside. I WILL get up nice and early tomorrow morning and spend some time bonding with my new toy !

I got a new Kayak Yeah

Off topic No way. This is my new Kayak that I purchased off ebay. This is my second. I have passed my old one onto my young bloke
I liked this Yak for the hatch size which is 8" and the 7d in a Dry bag fits in there nicely
My first Yak was narrower so not as stable and I had know where to store my 7d.
So with the new toy and a dry bag I can now take the 7d to capture the water dragons that I missed In my old Yak.

    Test run

G'day Geoff. The first thing I did when I got my 60D was sit down and read the manual.
Now I didn't remember every thing I read, but I did get the basics and it's so much easier to absorb when you need to go back and double check (or relearn) something.
It's my first DSLR and it's great.
    Enjoy.

Can't wait to try out my new 120 x 80 soft boxes with something other tham myself on a chair with some laundry as a background.
Don't critique the composition, there is no composition! It's just a random wide angle snap vaguely pointed to the middle of the room with a 10 sec delay timer
