Got myself a Hahnell GigaII radio remote shutter release as my old, cheap Chinese Special wired one won't work with the new 5D3 that is about to arrive.
The Giga comes with leads so it works with ANY Canon digital camera.
Just has a short play with it and it does everything you could expect.
Delayed exposure, half-press focus, time lapse, long exposure - and it even works through walls.

Also bought myself a Lowpro X200 wheelie bag, as I'm sick of having my gear in 2 bags and some still on the shelf.
This way I can carry everything with me in one bag and it just fits in the boot of my MX-5 with some room to spare for light stands etc.
Not cheap, but it should last a long time.
    Trouble is, it's already full!
All my photos are taken with recycled pixels.

You can fit lightstands in the boot of an MX-5?
    See my work on

5D MkIII arrived today. Will miss the "armoured tank" feel of the 1D MkIII but am looking forward to lighter travel in the field and the full frame goodness Hope I get used to it quick enough to get a couple of nice shots in over the weekend.

Had a Carry Speed Pro camera shoulder sling system turn up today, came with a bonus uni strap & hand strap all for the princely sum of $59.90.

Looked at the Black Rapid model but the Carry Speed's attachment plate can be left on the camera and any tripod quick release attached to it where the Black Rapid cant and the Carry Speed was cheaper....

    New Big Stick

Upgraded to a Manfrotto 681B Monopod today for $77.80. My first one wasn't handling the weight of the new lenses. This one will do it easily.

100-400 on the way, should be here in 3-5 days! Can't wait, my first L glass! (First lens worth more than a 55-250, for that matter).

Missing the "grippiness" of the 1D series too much. Grip for the 5D3 on its way.

No 100-400 yet. Can't wait. Hopefully on its way, although the shipping tracking hasn't updated in 4 days

Tracking can be like that at times. I hope your lens arrives soon.

    I'm sure you'll love it.

I've had mine for at least a couple of years now & still enjoy using it.

Got my 100-400. So happy. Will post some pics once they're on my computer (This thing makes me so trigger happy... I've taken about 400 photos in the hour or so I've been out today)
