I have just sold off most of the rest of my Pentax lenses which have funded my purchase of a Nikon 14-24 f2.8.
Not much to show for it yet as I haven't had much of a chance to use it other than a few quick test shots on the day I obtained it.

Thanks a lot Lance. Much appreciated She is slowly getting a little more used to the camera as she grows. Only problem is she always wants to look at the picture of herself on the camera display instead of standing in front of it so I can take a picture!
And sweet score on your 14-24. One of Nikon's finest zoom's according to it's reputation. I'm sure you'll enjoy.
Hi,
I am on holidays and currently in Manhattan. So many beautiful things to photograph so I took the plunge and finally (after two years) graduated from my fuji bridge to a Nikon D3100. Excited, and intimidated! (couldn't work out how to change my signature but I have updated my gear info)
Here is an auto shot of my window view!
I'm on my L plates - the more cc the better - all PP improvements welcome - starting with a P&S and saving up for better things as my skills improve
I got into work this morning and there was a package waiting for me. Opened it up and it was my 14-24mm 2.8G. Just in time for the weekend too!
I can't wait to start shooting with this baby!!!
Regards,
Phil

I find that when I get with an attack of G.A.S., it is often quite severe. Take my recent attack as an example, where I ended up purchasing:
Canon 7D
Canon 100-400mm f4-5.6L IS USM lens
Canon 580 EX II flash
Canon LP-E6 battery x2
Manfrotto 679B monopod and 234RC ballhead
LowePro Flipside 400
..all in the space of two weeks
Admittedly I did sell all of my Olympus gear over the same period

Nice going Nellie, look forward to seeing your thoughts on it!
Well uhh, talk about over-doing it. I broke the connection on my D80 shutter release remote for the third time on the weekend (they are flimsy weak sauce connectors) so I just ordered 10 of them for $3 each from ebay I think that should do me for a while.
Amongst that - I also got:
A Vanguard Alta Pro 264 Tripod with a GH-100 head - talk about being built like a brick, weighs like a few too!
More Cokin ND Filters - 1, 2, 3 Stops (next to buy would be hard edged GND filters)
Nikon 70-200/2.8 VR II Best. purchase. ever!

You will love the Vanguard Alan, it's a great tripod.
Thanks PH005!
And just a minor correction it's the 263, not the 264, it's a little bit higher with a higher loading capacity

Just recieved my new Canon 100mm f2.8 USM Macro . Wouldn't you know it, it's raining !
PH005, you are just as bad as I do re gear hoarding
Can start from water drop Something to do with the lens even indoor
Idiot of the week award would have to go to me for this one
I ordered a new battery holder clip for my D80 after thinking I lost it after installing my vertical grip and only being available in the US, waited about a month till it arrived yesterday. After taking my vertical grip off, I noticed the "missing" original was in the slot designed for where the cover should be placed so you don't lose it in the first place!
Just got a Lee Filter System with 0.3. 0.6 & 0.9 hard grad and a 0.7 soft grad.. Just waiting to see if my Big Stopper will arrive before I head off to Iceland at the end of next month..
hi fabian, out of curiosity, can you PM me to tell me how much you paid for it?
Just got a Canon A-1 with a 50mm f1.4 for real cheap (i think!)...
Waiting on my 2nd kiev 88 body since the first one came to me broken on the inside!
I have yet to learn my lesson with buying from fleabay.... *TUTS*
Nikon D700 in all it's glory!
To follow up with another clumsy purchase....I spent the entire weekend looking for the little stand that comes with your speedlight to mount on tripods etc. Gave up and bought a new one at what I think was a sizable amount of money for a piece of plastic. I had a scrummage in the back seat of my car this morning for something unrelated and what did I stumble on? The original I thought I'd lost
Let's hope my 70-200/2.8 doesn't go "missing" any time soon
Always helps to have spare ones of those cos ours go missing regularly.
Buy a handful at a not so sizeable amount of money from Hong Kong, they work for us.
