Maybe a bit pedestrian....I have just purchased a used Nikkon 35mm f1.8 DX lens on eBay for $183 including delivery. This is satisfying because I had offered to buy one at a higher price but the vendor wanted to settle outside of eBay and I was not comfortable with that. I mean, who uses a site to advertise their goods and then tries to circumvent the original advertiser? Can you trust that person?

You'd have to be happy with that, Tony...enjoy the toy
If you replace the 'W' with 'T' in When, Where and What, you get the answer for each question.
CC more than welcome. Remember, I can't be offended so go for it. Feel free to post your ideas with an edit if you have time. Thanks in advance.

definitely need more time with it but early impressions...

auto focus is very good, feels just that tad snappier than 5D3, ability to lock focus in very low light is uncanny, yesterday morning took a few shots in my room after getting out of bed, only light source is the little bits of light leaking through curtains, ISO 25600 f/1.4 1/60 shutter and still ~1 stop underexposed kind of dark, has no issues locking on, tried my sigma 150-600 with 1.4x tc attached and as advertised all focus points work (this is at f/9 too)

image quality wise, file definitely responds much, much better to pushing, much cleaner shadows can definitely place more emphasis on preserving highlights when exposing now, in terms of high ISO i don't think it's any cleaner than the 5D3 (but that in itself is impressive considering the higher pixel count) BUT due to better noise characteristics the files are nicer and more workable, having that higher resolution also allows for more aggressive noise reduction

live view DPAF is awesome, tap the screen and focus just latches on

oh and the shutter sounds awesome (to me anyway lol) even more dampened compared to 5D3, silent mode is only a little quieter, may or may not be worthwhile using it at the penalty of reduced fps, still worthwhile if noise is of concern, and on the topic of frames per sec 7 fps sounds faster than it should

Thanks. Interesting re pushing the shadows around. I'd like a little more latitude in this respect, without having to buy a Phase One.
I'm interested to see what the Sony A9 delivers given how good the a7iiR is in this respect.

    Got it!

iPhone 7 by Antony, on Flickr

Learned from my mistake with iPhone 6 Plus which I couldn't put it into my pocket, the smaller size is the answer.

Wooohooooooo I just got my first lens filters ever! B+W circular polariser and 6-stop ND filter. No one in my personal life understands the excitement of these two little pieces of glass but I am beyond stoked!!

    That's a bit amusing.
At least you have your stuff now Min.
I’m looking at a brick wall as I try to explain the benefits of an 80D and 10-22 lens.

Haha to the outsiders it's a small fortune given for some unknown reason...to me, it's a whole new world of creativity! Thanks for your understanding!

I love ND filters - I'm sure you'll have lots of fun playing with those. I got my husband into photography so at least now he understands when I say "we need .....".

Well I just said to Jayne "we need a CPL and an 80D." She said "I don't understand."

I gave you the solution Mark. You upgrade your camera and Jayne takes up photography with your old one. Worked for me

Been on a buying spree lately thanks to the sales of my Nikon gear.

    Bought a new Fuji X-T2, 23 f/2, 35 f/2, 90 f/2, 16-55 f/2.8, 50-140 f/2.8, Battery Grip, 2 spar batteries, Yongnuo FYN560 IV flash and Yongnuo 560 TX trigger

Also bought a Lexar 32GB 300MB/s Card, along with 2 x 64GB Sandisk Ultra 80MB/s, and a new ThinkTank Retrospective 10 so I can carry the camera with the 50-140 on it. Had the ThinkTank Retrospective 20 before but that is too deep for this camera so I sold it with the rest of my gear.
