I thought it would.. And I hope it does..
I have the HLD- 9 Grip for the MK11 and have not tried it out yet what I don't need is more weight.

Ohhh Yes. My first outing with my first E-M1 I took my two new fully charged batteries to Sea World for the day they ran out of charge early in the afternoon.
I was shocked, as my Canon at the time battery used to last around 1000 shots. Remembering over 5½ years ago I think the Olympus Batteries maybe 350 shots ?

I shoot with Olympus Cameras.. Sometimes Canon and My iPhone SE 2020

    Thanks John

It is a little strange, the capacity is around the same as the ones in my E-M10 MkII, but the E-M1 seems to chew through batteries quicker than the E-M10 does.

I have a total of 4 batteries for the E-M1, so will be interested to see if I can get through a full day with them.

For sure, the power switch is quite often employed

The grip and extra battery add around 250g to the total weight, with the non-lens weight of around 740g.

Might not sound a great deal, but it's quickly heading back into DSLR weight again, my D7200 (with grip and extra battery) only weighs 1052g without a lens.....

Heading to the zoo on Tuesday (weather permitting), so will be interesting to see how many batteries I go through...

Andy, one reason for the E-M1 MkI using more power than the E-M10 MkII is that is has a far bigger memory buffer, and a faster CPU throughput.

Who got new gear, you ask? - Well, I did, just today.

    It's a 480 GB Crucial SSD, destined to replace a like-sized HDD from a 12-yo lappy.
So I 1st slipped it into the Volans external dock (USB3) and Bing-0!. - Yes, nothing!
    - A quick call to the store later I found that "internal drives are "supposed to be initialised and formatted".
Hmm...! - OK, that's unlike the SSD I bought 2 years ago, which worked straight OOTB.

Nevertheless, an init and format later and it flies - 275+ MB/sec from the lappy
Along the way I learned 1 good trick: DO NOT set "allow compression". It slows down the write speed
to only about 10% of what I quoted

Anyway, I'm with it, and I hope I'll still be after I install it as the main drive in the old lappy.
    CC, Image editing OK.

Was very naughty this week. Picked up a second hand Tamron 15-30 (1st version) for a very good price.
Been a bit lost landscape-wise since I half killed my Sigma 17-35 by dropping the camera.
Now to find a reasonably priced filter mounting kit.....

Good on you Matt it's great to treat yourself now and again I don't think you are being naughty .
You can't take it with you, so you may as well enjoy it while you can

Picked up a 1Tb SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD drive a few weeks ago for photo backup while travelling. Tiny, but IP55 water and dust resistant, shock resistant. And very fast.
    Love it.

Keep an eye out for JB HiFi & Officeworks sales I generally find them the cheapest for hard drives lately.

I got some old camera gear. What sort of memory card fits these

    Camera Porn_s.jpg

Nikon F, Nikon F2, Nikkormat FT2, Nikon FE, Durst Automatica (credited as the first commercially available automatic camera), Konica Autorefex T, Olympus OM30, Wirgin Edixa Reflex, Zeiss Ikon Contaflex Super B.

All the Nikons work including the metering. The Olympus works but has a filthy viewfinder. The Durst works but the old selenium meter reads about 2-stops slow which is normal for a 60 year old selenium meter, the Edixa sort of works and like most old Zeiss reflex cameras, the Zeiss is stuffed but makes a good paperweight.
    Cheers

    PeterB666

Olympus Pen F with Metabones Speed Booster and Laowa 12mm f/2.8 or Voigtlander 10.5mm f/0.95 or Nikon D800 with the Laowa 12mm f/2.8. The need to keep in touch with the past is a Nikon Photomic FTn or Nikon F2A and a Nikkor 25-50mm f/4 AI

My shots are always overexposed because I take too long to insert them in the card reader. My most recent lens wasn't shown in that photo so here it is...

Nikon FE and Nikkor 28-45mm f4.5.jpg

Zoom-Nikkor 28-45mm f/4.5, the world's first wide angle zoom. I had one in 1977 and it was nicked. This one cost a fraction of the one I purchased in 1977. The lens is very usable on a dSLR and while relatively heavy, still quite compact. It's funny that when I hand one of the old school Nikon manual focus lenses to someone, they marvel at how wonderful the zoom and focus rings feel. Beautifully dampened and smooth as butter.

    Nice Peter.

I have a Pentax M 50mm f1.7 left over from my Pentax days that I can't seem to part with. At least you can use your lens.

The Olympus 12-50mm f/3.5-6.3 that I purchased last month on eBay finally arrived today.

Looks in very good condition (was second hand), hopefully, its performance is just as good
