    Yep!

The only difference is with the new version 2 of Picture Control Editor.

CNX2(now unsupported by Nikon) doesn't use the new version, and only uses the old one.
ViewNX2, now uses Picture Control Editor v2.

If you even use it(which most folks don't) .. for all intents and purposes they are the same thing, save for one small difference.
v2 has a new file type generator, that can only be used for the newer type Picture Control types(currently only in the D810).
The difference between v1 and v2 is the option to select the type of Picture Control to generate.
if the raw file is not a D810 type, the option for the new type is totally useless.
if the raw file is from a D810(and I assume any newer cameras Nikon introduce in the future), there is one insignificant extra options in the editing of the Picture Control rendering.
This extra option is called 'clarity', which from what I see is just another way to create contrast!

The flexibility of the editor itself, in terms of editing options .. is still very limited.

So, yeah. They still work together well. Just don't send any of your D810 NEF files into CNX2 from VNX2!
