I would recommened checking out the Canon 100 2.8 lens without the IS as they can be picked up for relativly cheap compared to the IS version, and depending on what you are doing I find that having no IS a non issue because with macro photography you really want to pin point your focus, and the closer you are to a subject this is so critical. In low light situations like shooting mushrooms the exposures can run into seconds so a tripod here is a must. The IQ from the non IS version is just stunning and well worth checking out.
