They are certainly superb examples of "so-whattery" MM
They are only beaten by the inane ads that show people walking into their re-furbished houses and gushing uncontrollably.
Now, there's a new word doing the rounds with these house-reno shows: "reveal".
I thought it was a feature of cabinet-making, but it seems to be the simplification of "revelation".
Perhaps it just means "inane"?

As a parent of two girls I can honestly say that body image is a real concern. You have a chance at "training" for healthy behaviour but Dad (or Mum) does not rate when it comes how they look, this comes from external sources. Specifically not family. Rick is right in that we tell our kids they are pretty, or smart, or what ever and this does not prepare them for when some other kid calls them fat or ugly. How can you inoculate against such viral attacks is beyond me, but I think that loving and listening goes some way. I don't think it is something the Govt can do for us, we have to take responsibility for it ourselves.
