    Had a crack at it tonight at 600mm.. very hard to get a decent sharp shot due to vibrations from my tripod and the combination of very high iso + slow shutter speed..still good fun!

    I had very clear skies here where I live and managed to get some shots, I posted one in the Night/Astro forum.

    I wish I had the reach of 600mm, I only had my kit lens at 250mm, but I'm happy with the photos I was able to get with it.

    I needed to get to higher ground - I couldnt see the moon until it was over. I have seen some good shots already taken by other photographers though!

    There is a solar eclipse this tuesday coming but being a daylight one you really need to be prepared with a solar filter, pointing your camera directly at the sun spells bad news.. there is also another full lunar in october and another solar one to follow that.
