    Recommended books for LR5 and PE12 ?

    Aloha

    I am going to purchase

    • Lightroom 5 (ie the current version)
    • Photoshop Elements 12 (ie the current version)
    • (also Premiere Elements 12 )
    • Google Nik Collection

Can people recommend the best instructional books (best as in easiest to use and also comprehensive) for these various pieces of software ?

    Thank You Muchly.

I found one with free worldwide shipping thats a tad over $40. Cant argue with that.

I note Scott Kelby also has one entitled Photoshop Elements 12 Book for Digital Photographers. Similar price.

As far as Premiere is concerned there is one by the 'Adobe Creative Team' - Adobe Premiere Elelemnts 12 Classroom in a book.

Does anyone know whether these Adobe publications are, as a rule, any good?

if you are not tied to the idea of books, consider looking at KelbyOne (Also Scott Kelby) . You can subscribe for a month for $25 and watch as many videos as you want (you only have to subscribe for one month if that's all you need). The quality is pretty good and you can target specific areas of photography you want. They have pretty good coverage of lightroom, some of the nik stuff and they also cover photoshop and elements.

I've always battled with books, I'm more of a see and do kind of person so I've always preferred these. I have also liked the option to download videos onto my iPad and then watch them on plane trips when I have more time on my hands.

You will we are more still photographers on AP, than video, thus why you got answers on LR and photoshop Elements, and not much on Premier.

Re Nik, they are plugins and the best place to get instructional videos is on youtube or the Nik site, I cannot ever recall seeing a book about plugins before.
