    Sigma 8-16mm

Purchased one of these a few days back and today the weather was nice and sunny, so coupled with the local Cops and Rodders show I grabbed a few shots

Nice and clear shots - (just my opinion ) the wide angle distors the car/truck too much for me and Iwould have tried a 50mm or even 28mm (anyway just my opinion). It works well with the 2 shots of the horses.

Appreciate that, I was mainly experimenting most of the shots were taken at the extreme end (8mm) so that I could get an appreciation of what the lens was capable of, as well as being close which I knew would result in exaggerated perspectives. Certainly with 50mm or (probably 28mm) I would have had to get too far back and crowd would have been an issue. As yet I still haven't taken that many shots with this lens though, some fun for the future.

    Interesting shots!

I'm looking at getting a Sigma 8-16mm, would you recommend the lens now that you've had it for a while?
Do you think the extra 2mm vs a 10-20mm makes all that much difference?

Love the shots and the lens. I got mine last week and love it, although have not really had much time to use it.

It is crazy how close you can get to the subjects and at 8mm it is so much fun.

Yes nice shots and nice lens - I have 2 x Sigma 10 -20's my favourite lens. Just have to watch you don't include your feet in each shot.

Did a sign image like this up for the weekly challenge (Week 8 2014) and this is another one I did after for a bit of fun. Have a few other ideas also that I will do in the next few weeks - time permitting.
