Any reason why you are looking at a hand strap over something like a black rapid?

If you intend using your camera on a tripod, there are options to put a arca swiss clamp on your strap. Black rapid do sell something but it's pretty expensive and I wouldn't consider it for that price when you can build your own for about $30.

I have battery grips on both my 400D and 7D and use hand straps on both combined with a Quick Rapid double sling (all 3 available on Ebay for under $35 the lot here and here) I have been using this combo for about 3 years now and find it great for both birds/wildlife and sports/motor sport.
    Cheers
    Keith.
