Canon 430 speedlight battery case.

Ok, I'm going to cop a flogging, but here goes:

I have one. Hardly used it.

Am wanting to muck about with some things but rather than "waste" the batteries taking test shots and playing with settings, is it possible to get a....... thing which allows you to use external 6vDC power rather than batteries?

This unit is probably the best bet for the 430 seeing it doesn't have an external power source socket like the 580 does.

Can you just use rechargeable batteries in the 430 EX instead? Or is it that they wouldn't get used except in the flash?

I guess I could use re-chargeable ones, but I don't have any of those either.

Just looking at options.
