    most photographed places

just a cool thing i found

    Google
has released a heat map showcasing the most photographed places in the World. The data was pulled from Google Maps’ Panoramio service, which attaches geo-tagged photos to locations in Google Maps and Earth. New York City comes in at number one with Rome and Barcelona taking the number two and three spots.

Thanks for posting this. I used to look at Google maps and look at the Panoramio pictures for ideas and inspiration. These days they seem to have gone from Google maps and it's a real shame. I can use this now

How much of that map d'you reckon is drawn from smartphone snapshots?

My guess would be a very large (and dominant) percentage... still, mighty cool/creepy. Skynet!
