Sigma 135mm F1.8 DG OS Art

The rumour mill is running amok this evening that Sigma are developing an f1.8 135mm DG (full frame) OS (Optical Stabilised) Lens in their new ART rage of Pro level lenses.

Now if that is true, there would be some lovely goodness in an f1.8 lens.

Also Sigma are apparently going to be very aggressive in their lens releases in 2014 under their ART nomenclature. Sigma could well be looking to take on the manufacturers top end lenses. With the following line-up of new lenses being bandied about:

    Sigma 24-105mm f/4 OS
Sigma 24-70mm f/2 OS HSM (Could be 2.8)
    Sigma 300mm f/2.8 OS
    Sigma 400mm f/2.8 OS
    Sigma 500mm f/4 OS
    Sigma 600mm f/4 OS
Sigma 135mm f/1.8 DG OS ART
    Sigma 24mm f/1.4 DG ART
    Sigma 50mm f/1.4 ART

heard about this awhile back, if true that lens could be a game changer, especially if the optics of the 35mm art is anything to go by

would love to see them try their hands on a tilt shift and canon's 8-15 fisheye zoom as well

I also heard about this a while back. Sounds very interesting.

I am a little skeptical of is the 24-70 f2 OS. That's going to be one big ###### pf a lens!

24-105/4 OS already exists .. and looks to have very high IQ(going by DPR/Dxo's review)

I'd also be skeptical of the 24-70/2 ... more likely a 24-70/2.8 OS(obviously with an added OS feature).
Although with a 82mm lens diameter 24-70 should theoretically be easily achieved, and Sigma has proved some interesting lenses recently, so ......
And, even at say $1.5K in price(massive increase over the current model f/2.8 lens), it'd still make it a bargain in anyone's language.

a reasonably priced 135mm f/1.8(with or without OS)! ... now that would help end my current obsession with all these the old, manual clunkers I'm watching.
