Although I feel this type of work gives 'Photography' a bad name it really only changes and improves the process. Images were composited or combined before the 1900's and retouching and dedicated retouchers where standard in any portrait business worth it's salt for over a 100 years.

I just wish I had the skilled touch with Photoshop to be able to fine tube a portrait to that extent. I tried to remove some of the harsh lines on a portrait of my mum to see her as she normally is rather than when she purses her lips when freaking out for the camera. I just made her look unreal. My puppetwarping skills need much help!

Easy! You use the Photoshop Rack Treatment filter. It's available in all versions of Photoshop during the middle ages.
