    Intruders in the house

Living in far north QLD i'm used to seeing critters around the house. But being in a queenslander, I thought I was safe from invasion? WRONG!...
Just before work one day, this harmless tree snake surprised me with its presence. Managed to gently coax him out.
A few months later I could hear some c'motion in the kitchen, and found this goanna getting into the scraps. Coaxed him out with a bit of chook.
This happened two days in a row. Needless to say I try to keep the doors closed.

I don't usually mind the wildlife though that Goanna/Monitor Lizard ? is a little bit on the big side.
Imagine the damage it could do to your timber floors with those interesting long claws its got..
I bet your were glad it liked the chook.. And well done on showing it the door in a gentle way.

I love these images and the story Sometimes 'Not for Critique' is a very interesting forum to read, due to the oddities that are posted. I agree with the sentiment about gently removing the invaders alive , cheers Deb
