    survey from AP Website

I just clicked on a post and it took me to a new page where I was asked to fill in a survey for the AP forum. Is this legit? I hope so, because I did it!! There were 'prizes' at the end but I did not use those as I wasn't impressed with it being more a marketing push for the products (weightloss pills and a facial cleanser).

I haven't seen anyone else comment about this survey.

No. your browser has been hacked on your computer. This has been reported before. You need to look at what add-ons etc you have or if you have installed some software that has added some spy/malware onto your computer.

Monika... I copped it a week or so ago. And asked the same question... Funny how it only picked AP out of all the other sites I visit through my normal web surfing. I have my own forum, of a totally different subject matter, and there has been no reports of it from my members.

When your PC and/or browser is compromised the virus looks up sites you have visited and then pretends to be a survey.

When we do surveys we normally do it direct from the site via a poll or (unlikely) use Survey Monkey

I remember an add on being put onto my computer the other night and I was peeved as it wasn't what I wanted....some other crappy thing that put itself onto my toolbar.....well, guess what??? That was the culprit. *roll eyes*

You might have to run several cleans and even different cleaning software to rid yourself of it permanently. Also unistall any add-ons for your browser that you do not want/need. Go to your Control Panel and look at all the installed programmes as well. And remove any you do not want/need.

This one should pick up anything else that what you ran didn't (just download free version) ..... http://www.superantispyware.com/superantispyware.html
Run a full scan to start with. Then every now and then run a quick scan.

Thanks Mark and Rick.....I downloaded the full version of the superantispyware and ran a scan.....over 400 found. I also deleted all the firefox extensions except the Exif one ( need that!). Ive gone through the Control Panel and looked at all the programs but I have no idea if I need it or not. This could be a bit of a fear I have, btw.....a fear of getting rid of things. Would you believe I hate deleting messages on the answering machine because I feel I might need it (for some unknown reason). I do delete them but I have a bit of an anxiety attack first!! A split second one! LOL Same with the rubbish truck picking up our bin. Weird, hey?

Anyway, I digress.... I will not get rid of any programs as yet. I will see how I go with the spyware and malware I installed.
