    5D and 6D cameras - a question

    G'day all

In a couple of sentences, could someone give me a qwik look at the differences beween the current 5D and 6D cameras. [I have a friend interested in upgrading]

    Thanks, Phil
Of all the stuff in a busy photographers kitbag, the ability to see photographically is the most important

The 5D came out in three versions 5D (released 2005), 5D Mk II (released Sept 2008) and 5D Mk III (March 2012)..which one are you wanting to compare?

    Thanks fellas

We're very converscent with DPR and associated stuff - thanks anyway
She [my student] was trying to discern the differences between 'current' canon offerings - ie the 5D-3 & the 6D and upon all comparisons they seem so similar even tho the price of the 6D seems to 3/4 that of the 5D-3

As she has no CF cards, the need for 5D x CF card slot is zero ~ so she's decided to go for the 6D

So her shopping list now is the 6D; the 24-105; the 100-400 + a carbon fibre set of legs + flash + a porter to carry it all around when she goes overseas later this year

Thanks again to all who contributed to this query

The lady concerned is now chasing quotes for the stuff listed in post #4
She is off overseas later this year and I'm sure that she will enjoy it all [even tho it's not the sort of kit I would choose]

She has no aspirations to become a wiz-kid photographer, so 99% of the hi-powered features of the camera will in all probability remain unused - however, she is content
