Point Danger Gannet Colony, need info.

Hi. I'm new around here and wasn't sure where to post something like this. Anyway, I would appreciate if anyone can tell me whether one can get close enough for decent photos of the gannets at Point Danger. I'll have a 600mm full frame equivalent set up.

From what I've been able to find on line I've seen comments about "restricted access" and a "viewing area". So two basic questions"

Is the "restricted access" just meaning you have to stay in the viewing area or is there some sort of permit required?

Is the viewing area within range of the previously mentioned 600mm equivalent for reasonably full frame shots?

    Thanks in advance for replies.
    Regards,
    Dan

    Which Point Danger...
    QLD - Tweed Heads?
    VIC - Torquay or Portland?

    I'm guessing Portland. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Point_D...%28Portland%29

Looks like access is ok... http://www.visitportland.com.au/thin...nts/index.html
