    ITLAP day special rules...

    1. The image must have some classical pirate element:
eg. a skull and crossbones flag, cannon (not the camera), sailing ship, persons in pirate garb (clothing), swords, black powder firearms, eye patches, or anything that makes a clear connection to the idea of classic pirates

    2. Piracy has nothing to do with infringement

    3. Parrots or other pirate related bird images must have an additional pirate element eg. the parrot attached to the shoulder of a Long John Silver look a like would be ok

    4. The image should have been taken in the last 12 months and not have been used in a comp previously (this is different from normal AP comps)

The main idea is to portray classical pirates creatively.

Is there a reason that the theme can't just be pirate themed? Until your post I thought that it was the theme...

Why not have it as the normal brilliant theme, that has been very successful in the past.... "Pirate theme" with the limitations as above.
The last couple of months themes have failed because of it being too complicated. Please do not do it to this one.

We have never had it is 'pirate theme'. It has been things like 'nautical', etc, but not 'pirate' . We are not going to 'do it to this one' which is why I asked what you wanted as the theme.

Yup....I agree. Pirate theme should be the theme!! Kym already set out what the rules should be and I think we just go with that.

A bump to maybe widen the theme.

"We’ve claimed the pirate name in the fight for a free, open and renewed democracy in Australia,...."
    http://pirateparty.org.au/faq/

I have no affiliation with these people. Just wondered who they where when I looked at the 110 names on the N.S.W. Senate ballet paper.
As always, I'll be voting below the line.

If anyone in Melbourne is looking for a target, starting tomorrow the 6th September until the 15th September there will be quite a few tall ships arriving in Port Phillip Bay sailing up to anchor off Williamstown. Google "Tall Ships Melbourne" to find more info.
