My Birthday is coming - Surprise - D800

It is soon my birthday and Di has promised me (my interpretation and my money) a D800 body. Now is the time to look where to buy from.

We are based in Armidale, so have no local camera stores (except large chains that don't stock D800's and prices are not realistic). We want to buy with a Nikon Australian warranty. We are looking for a reasonable price and a good reputation.

Can we get your thoughts upon where we might be able to buy from?

i suppose there is camera house coffs harbour? $3499 with $100 cash back deal which looks a little steep.. ecscameras.net.au have it for $3165 they are Nikon authorised comes with 12 mth warranty and additional 12 mths upon registration. Georges have it for $3096, dont know about delivery costs.. nofrillscameras have it for $2988.85 with flat rate shipping of $13.95 , again comes with Australian warranty they do not ship from overseas Ryda.com they have same deal $2988.85 but there shipping costs are a little lower at $9.95 again 2 year warranty when registered with Nikon. Tom Saade of parramatta little more at $2995 dont know if they deliver.

    Vanbar - $2999
    European Camera Sales - $3050
    MyCameraFocus - $2860
Discountcameras.com.au - $3774.23!! (they obviously haven't updated their prices since the D800 was released).

All Aussie(AFAIK), the only one I've dealt with are Vanbar, and their service is excellent, but all the others have also had good reps over time(that I've read).

Do a google search for the websites of each respective business name.

Thanks for the help so far, we are busy doing internet research at the moment, anfd appreciate the suggestions posted, it helps to hear people's experiences. We are also looking into what lenses he wants, and into an updated computer too, so it will be an expensive "surprise" he is going to have to pay for, but it is a big "0" birthday
