    D600, what lenses to buy.

I've just purchased the D600 and now looking for a good telephoto lens. I am looking at taking sports shots, mainly go karts and other sports. I would like a good range with it. I have just seen the Sigma 150-500mm lens, just wondering is this a good lens or is there a better lens to buy around the same price range. I am done a little research, I am just a little weary of getting it. I do have a Tamron 70-300mm lens, which I want to upgrade to a better lens.

I am also wondering what other lenses are worth looking at having in my kit. I have a 50mm prime lens and a Tonkia 16-28mm wide angle lens.

I will mainly by shooting Real Estate Photography, but I am not limiting myself just to doing that.

Any help would great appreciated please.

Hi Legends, and welcome to the land of AP.
Your lenses don't sound too bad. What do you mean by better than [the Tamron 70-300]? That is, in what way?
I am guessing that you want some extra focal length.

Meanwhile, post up some of the shots taken with that lens and let's have a look at them.

As for the 150-500 you mentioned, there are a couple here with it and they have not sounded to upset with it.

My Nikon 28-300mm pretty much lives on my D600. It's handy for almost any type of general photography. Not sure what your budget is though.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

I'm assuming you want better IQ at the long end, and IMHO a prime lens is the way to go.

I can recommend the Nikon AF-S 300mm f4. It's a Pro quality lens, and if you add the TC-14EII you have a 420mm lens with minimal loss of sharpness.
    Cheers
