    More Prizes..what should we give them away for

    I have 6 x 8G USB drives to give away as a follow on from giving away 3 x 16GB ones for the cross level competitions.

    I would like your suggestions on how we work out who should win one. Things like:

    * Best CC of the Week
    * More cross level competitions
    * Competition winners

    Other ideas greatly appreciated.

    * Best CC of the Week

    CC is one of the most valuable resources that an online community can offer. There are some wonderful members on here that go the extra mile in regards to giving CC, it would be great to see them encouraged with a prize.

    Maybe something to reward participation rather than winning. Perhaps a 'random' draw amongst participants in certain comps, or maybe even restrict to a random draw amongst first-time comp entrants?

    Cheers.

    Quote from Fillum "Perhaps a 'random' draw amongst participants in certain comps" Sounds like a good idea but wouldn't advertise which comps until after they closed.
    I also like the cross level competitions as well.

    6 is a good number to give away so they could be spread around.
    I am not sure that providing them to comp winners is much incentive, I would have though that actually winning would be enough reward (and incentive to enter).
    Did the 16GB ones influence the cross level comps?

    Perhaps some could be offered as a runners up prize. Or as mentioned above as a random draw for comp entrants.

    I think offering to best/most helpful CC is also a good use.

    update

    I have noticed this double up thing has happened a number of times in different threads.
    I did not update, is it because I took too long typing (got interupted by a client on the phone).

    Congratulations on being the most awesome member on Tuesday 26th March 2013 @ 4.01pm. At 4.02pm you were surpassed by another member and as a previous winner you are no longer eligible for any future prizes in relation to said awesomeness. Well done! Keep up the good work Greg.

    I have no idea about you could even begin to judge a prize for Best CC

    The first thing I can think of that has some sort of data attached to it is people's Competition Score. Therefore, there is a measure and maybe there could be a 'most improved' prize over a set time frame, that could be manageable, but you might get some equal scores

    I've really enjoyed the mixed level comps, I think they're very much worth following up.

    Well, just to create a whole bunch of work for the Mods, how about a team comp? Team of 3, one from each level, one theme, maybe around a significant day/event. I'm sure that Kym could whip up some sort of means for us to gather into teams. Or it could just be random - create an electronic sheet, open it at a stated time and people just sign on. If people want to get really involved, they can communicate via PM, otherwise, each team member submits a photo based on the theme and then the AP community votes as usual, except they'll have to observe all 3 images as a 'parcel'

    I've probably given you enough headaches, cheers Deb

    Judging CC is easy. We have done it before and offered up prizes for best CC.

    The mods and I just assess the CC on its overall help and guidance to the member whose photo it was posted about. We look at overall comment, technical help -eg advise on camera settings, suggestions for post processing etc. We seek out CC that is detailed, accurate, helpful and positive. Then at the end of the 'entry' period, we discuss all the possible candidates and decide upon a winner. We could offer up best CC prizes to members of each level, thus encouraging beginners to provide better CC as well.

    Maybe a " photo of the day" award.....just pick what the mods think is a photo thats outstanding or unique or quirky or just grabs their attention thats been uploaded to one of the groups on a particular day.

    Is Rictas ricktas's dodgy Nigerian cousin? Hope you didn't send him $10,000 to release your prize.
