The 'cross level' competitions; your thoughts please

With the last of our 'cross level' competitions in voting at present, I was wondering what you thought of the idea? Would you like to see us run more of these competition where we combine the levels

    Beginner and Intermediate
    Beginner and Advanced
    Intermediate and Advanced

Does offering up a prize for the highest voted photo, from the lower level entries encourage you more to give it a go?

Any other thoughts you have on this? I would love to hear what you think, so we can decide if we do it again, or do something different?

I enjoyed the competitions Rick, it was good to challenge myself and they really made me think and plan a lot more than usual. I feel as though I have learnt quite a lot over the last few weeks.
A prize is great ... but the challenge of going up against different levels is reward enough I think.
Only thing I would suggest is to list each of the entries levels after voting is finished ... I know I would like to see how I did against the more skilled photographers.
I would certainly enter more of these comps

It's great. As Cargo says, It's an extra challenge. Makes one think what to put in.
But I would like to see the lower level entry winners image put up as well. I have not seen the names of the lower entry winners as yet. Maybe I haven't looked hard enough.

I like that the lower levels can get an idea on where there image would sit amongst those from more advanced photographers. It is useful for people who intend on going down the road of submitting images for National salons etc especially for those that may not realise how well they are doing and not enter for fear of rejection.

it's good for the less experienced as it gives incentive to push a bit harder for a better image
but they have that incentive in the open competitions anyway
    cc and enjoy
