    60D or 700D

With tax time coming up I have been thinking about upgrading my camera, at the moment both the 60D and 700D are both under $700 for the body. Would there be any advantage of going for the 60D over the 700D? Looking at all the specs I can't see a hell of a lot of difference.
    Regards
    Wayne

In terms of specs, I think that the 60d is still slightly better than the 700d.

The real advantage i think of the 700d is the newer sensor and the touch screen

Hard call Wayne, I see you have a 450D so the size will feel the same , For you I'd nearly say the the 700D over the 60D , Way better low light performance , Touch screen and a newer Digi 5 processor , If you had a 30D or 50D it may feel a little small in your hands , The only real difference I could see is that the 60D has a higher shutter speed 1/8000th compared to 1/4000th for the 700D , Both take around 5 f/ps , As I said a hard call

Thanks for the comments guys, I was leaning toward the 700D but was just a bit unsure with both being around the same price

I'm waiting for tax time too, but I am hoping that the 70D will be released. Specs are just rumor and conjecture at the moment but I am hoping that it will be closer to a 7D rather than 60D. But since your asking about the 700D why not look at the 650D? I have heard that most of the specs are pretty much the same. The 700D has a hybrid auto focus and more scene selection though.

Thank you for your comments, depends on the tax return (hope its better than the last couple of years) but I like the 700D, have looked at the 650D too so that is still an option

And on that note what about 600d? Pretty sure the differences between 600,650 and 700 are mostly minor with the exception of the sensor on the 700.

Having the 60D I like it but I always want more from it than what it can offer (not great in low light conditions) with I love to shoot all the time! The new processor is definitely a big plus over the 60D. I have a decision to make too, going whole hog for full frame goodness, 5d MkIII or 6D?!!

Have you held both bodies to see which feels better in your hands?
My teenaged daughter just bought a 60D SLK a couple of weeks ago for $712 from DCW for Australian Stock.
I've just looked and the price has gone up to $774.

Hay Wayne, here is a good comparo, not sure if you've looked at this.

For me, they're pretty close, a few differences, but I'd go with the one that feels the best in your hands, and the one with the most easy to reach controls.

Is weather sealing and a faster shutter of a concern? things like that, otherwise what feels the best is your winner.
