Which EF lenses does he own / have access to?

If he doesn't have good glass to start with and is cash strapped like most of us, advise him to save money by buying a good quality Nikon D600 body and appropriate glass.

Good to know with the glass, I'm pretty sure "William and JSP" (William's son Joel) just got them selves a 6D, might be worth a PM mate.

I don't own one, but it is my upgrade of choice at the moment.
If he uses the video a lot then he needs to be aware that on the 6D Moire (banding) has not been addressed very well.
Its a bit strange because they got it right on the 5Dmk3.
If he videos in areas where that would be a problem then he might want to check out the alternatives.

I've just ordered mine I've read about the moire and they say it is as bad as the 5D mk2 which I was more then happy with. Hopefully it arrives this week and I can have a look.

I'm very happy with mine - and I consider it probably the best option around at the moment. I moved up from a 40D and a 500D and the 6D is pretty much what I want in a camera. The video seems fine to me, but I'm not aiming for the stars. The ISO is amazing and basically it does everything I want with perhaps two exceptions. Not having on-board flash is irritating (for fill-in) and not having a faster frames per second is slightly limiting (4.5 as compared to higher in the 7D for example)

I bought mine from Camera Paradise where the current price is probably a lot cheaper than DWI by a large factor. I have no regrets in buying the 6D - images are crisp, accurate and now all I have to blame for poor shots is me ........

i have had mine now for 4 weeks and it has performed as i expected. It works grate in low light and i have also shot some mx with it and it performed well. not as quick as my 7d but i like it the best of my cameras at the moment. I have not had any issues with as yet, shooting a wedding 2 weeks ago in the rain and low light and it worked well

Is it likely the price of the 6d will drop below $1400 before October? On eglobal it is going for $1429 plus $59 for delivery totalling $1488. Not really in a hurry to buy one so I can wait if it is likely to drop in price over the next 6 months.
