For the first time ever, all 38 species of Birds of Paradise captured on film

National Geographic undertook to record all 39 species of Bird of Paradise. It has never been achieved till now.

After 8 years and 18 expeditions to Australia, New Guinea and the surrounding islands, all 39 species have now been recorded

Came across this today ...... http://video.nationalgeographic.com/...ecture-nglive/
It has the two gents who documented all these birds explaining the birds and how they went about getting some of the videos and photos. An enjoyable, informative 30 minutes.

It's worth checking the link Rick provided in his first post also. Go into The birds section. More amazing video and photos presented in much smaller segments like this ........ http://www.birdsofparadiseproject.or...nt.php?page=66

Always loved the Bird of Paradise since Sir David Attenborough introduced them into our house. Not only are they beautiful, but some of the males have the most interesting courting behaviour. Very suave and showoffy strutters. Thanks for sharing Rick.

Amazing birds - so beautiful. Remember seeing what photographers have to go through to get good shots of these elusive birds - they earn their money. Also seeing some of these birds, you can see where the locals got the ideas for their ceremonial headdresses.
